Why Choose Lifeline?
Philips Lifeline was the first and remains the #1 emergency response service in North America. JCS’s Lifeline RI program has partnered with the Philips Lifeline company for more than 30 years, bringing this essential service to the RI community.
With Lifeline, you’ll get state-of-the-art medical alert equipment and round-the-clock access to trained Response Associates in the event of an emergency. You can feel secure knowing that Lifeline offers:
- Prompt, caring assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The recommendation of more than 200,000 health care professionals.
- Decades as the leading provider, giving more than 7 million seniors and others the confidence and support to live independently.
Fast, Reliable Access to Help
Lifeline’s Response Center is company-owned and supported with a back-up Call Center, so you can count on getting help quickly. Lifeline equipment is self-checking and notifies the Response Center if it detects a power failure, low battery or a button that needs to be replaced.
Comfort and Convenience
Help Buttons can be worn either as a pendant or around the wrist. Weighing less than half an ounce, they are comfortable to wear, and unlike cell phones, they stay with you wherever you go. They’re also:
- Convenient. The smooth design makes for unobtrusive wear, and the recessed button prevents accidental activation.
- Waterproof. Wear it in the bath or shower, where falls often occur.
- Always active. Your Help Button stays charged, giving you power when you need it most.
Why Choose JCS as Your Lifeline Supplier?
Unlike impersonal sales offices, we offer:
- Knowledgeable, caring experts who take time to ensure that your specific needs are met.
- Local, personal service to get you started right away.
- A network of health and social services professionals who can help address other challenges in independent living.

Many of our clients have service arranged by relatives who live out of town. As long as the installation occurs within Rhode Island or southeastern Massachusetts, it doesn’t matter where the contract holder lives.
Do you provide Lifeline to those in assisted living facilities?
Yes. JCS provides Lifeline services to individuals living at home, in senior housing, or in assisted living facilities. Lifeline provides an extra measure of security for those who receive some assistance but who do not have someone caring for them at all times.
How long will it take to get Lifeline started?
In most cases, Lifeline can be installed within 1–2 business days. Installation itself usually takes less than half an hour. The installer will walk you through the process of making a call for help: Simply activate the button to reach the response center for help.
How will I know if my equipment needs servicing?
Lifeline equipment is self-checking and notifies the response center if it detects a power failure, low battery or a button that needs to be replaced. We will come to your home to make any necessary repairs or battery changes for no additional fee.
Will Lifeline work from anywhere in the house?
In general, you can use the Help Button to call for help from anywhere in or around your home, although the range varies depending on your home’s construction and distance from the communication device. Buttons are waterproof and therefore designed to work in the shower or bath.
