It’s that time of the year when we reflect on the past year and make goals for ourselves in the upcoming! For this New Years Resolution, how about giving back to those in your local communities, and making someone else’s year brighter by becoming a volunteer for the Partners in Care program at Jewish Collaborative Services!
The Partners in Care program provides free respite care to caregiving families in multiple cities across Rhode Island. We do this by recruiting and training volunteer members to go into caregiving families’ homes and providing companionship for seniors in our community. This gives the opportunity for caregivers to have time to recharge, rest, and handle matters that are not always possible when being a full-time caregiver to a family member. As a volunteer, you will assist in making one less senior be isolated, and start a senior’s year off brighter by dedicating your time to help!
We are currently actively recruiting volunteer members to join our team! Some of many benefits of joining are as follows: a monthly ($150) and yearly educational stipend (~$1,500) upon completion of the required hours, training and support throughout the entire process, bonding with seniors in your local community, and having the opportunity to give back through volunteerism.
Want to learn more about the program? Jewish Collaborate Services is hosting ‘Volunteer Open House’, on January 6th, 2020 from 10 am to 6 pm, I encourage anyone interested about learning more about the program to come in anytime and hear from volunteers themselves about this rewarding volunteer opportunity!
